1. Gelateria dei Gracchi (several stores near VATICAN, PIAZZA DEL POPOLO: this historic ice cream maker makes probably the best Pistacchio in town! 3. Gunther (near PANTHEON): Günther Rohregger is an Italian born in Trentino Alto Adige Region who moved to Rome to open one of the best gelaterie of the Eternal City . Pine Tree and Super Dark Chocolate Flavors are his specialties.

4. Fassi (near TERMINI TRAIN STATION: founded in 1880 by Giovanni Fassi is one of the oldest ice cream parlors in Italy. Visiting its location is already worth your time. the store is an old building all dedicated to ice cream making and part of it is a little museum, The most famous specialty is the Sanpietrino semifreddo (cobblestone-shaped frozen dessert) , called in this way because it shaped as the cobblestones that oave the streets of Rome. Other specialties are the zabaglione, cream and berries and the vanilla-flavor enriched with rice grains.

5. Fiordiluna (TRASTEVERE district): if you are visiting the neighboorood of Trastevere you have to stop here with your family to try one of the best gelato in town. It was among the first makers to get Organic certification. Probably the best hazeknut in Rome (nocciola).

6. Gelateria Del Teatro(near PIAZZA NAVONA): hidden in a very pictoresque corner in the historic center is a popular address for many locals but not only. Particularly worth mentioning the pinapple flavor (ananas) and the melon.

7. Otalegi (near TRASTEVERE): another great gelato maker with outstanding flavors esepcially the persimmon, the creams (fiordilatte from raw milk is a true delight), the apple with almond, raisins and cinnamon and some special innovations such as brie with toasted sesame and acacia honey.
